Full Tilt Poker Updates Prohibited Software List
If you’ve ever wondered to yourself what programs are permitted when you play on Full Tilt Poker, we’ve got you covered. Recently, the world’s second largest online poker site rolled out an updated list of banned software programs so that its members would be well informed. The disallowed programs are very similar to those you’d find on other rooms, but let’s take a gander through them to see which ones you should avoid the next time you fire up Full Tilt.
First and foremost, all bot programs are prohibited. Not only will your account likely be closed if you’re found playing with the aid of a bot, but funds within your account could be confiscated as well. Full Tilt specifically calls out WinHoldem, OpenHoldem, ICM-Bot, Frogbot, Poker Android, and “any custom-built program of this type.” Any program that automatically folds poor hands is also not allowed. The bottom line is that using software that acts for you in a hand will likely land you in hot water with Full Tilt.
Communal hand history databases and data mining programs are also not allowed on Full Tilt Poker at any time. The site notes, “The use of shared hand histories provides detailed information on opponents a player has little or no personal experience playing against and is deemed to be an unfair advantage.” Specific examples include a few programs that we have extensive reviews of here on PokerSoftware.com: Poker-Edge, Poker Crusher, SpadeEye, IdleMiner, and HandHQ. In addition, “exchanging hand histories with a friend” is against the rules, so be forewarned. Table selection software also falls under this category and includes Lobby Edge, Poker Usher, Sixth Sense, Poker Sherlock, and Poker Table Finder.
Programs that are prohibited only while you’re playing on Full Tilt Poker include those that “suggest betting actions” and poker odds calculators. Overall, the site asserts, “Players must make all betting decisions on their own without assistance of any type.” Programs that fall under this category that are specifically singled out by Full Tilt include Online Holdem Inspector, Poker Calculator Pro, SNG Endgame Tools (SNGEGT), Short Stacking Strategy (SSS) Calculator, SAGE Calculator, and Poker Hound. In addition, websites that contain information about your foes cannot be accessed while you’re playing. These include SharkScope, Top Shark, Smart Buddy, and PokerTableRatings.
Not all programs are on Full Tilt Poker’s black list. Ones that you can use at will include instructional software like Poker Academy Pro, Wilson Software's Turbo Texas Holdem, and SNG Wizard. The industry’s hallmark database programs like PokerTracker, Poker Academy Prospector, Holdem Manager, and Poker Office are all kosher as well. However, shared hand histories you’ve imported into any of these programs are not permitted, so be sure that you’re only using your own. Similarly, these programs’ Heads-Up Displays (HUDs) are also allowed provided that only data you’ve collected on your own is shown.
Provided that no shared hand histories are accessed, programs like Full Tilt Poker Shortcuts, Full Tilt Poker Custom Lobby, Full Tilt Poker Table Opener, Full Tilt Poker Planner, and Full Tilt Poker Buddies are all usable. Finally, odds calculators where the user is required to type in the situation in order to come to a conclusion are also acceptable. These include PokerStove, CardPlayer’s Poker Odds Calculator, and Poker Academy’s Odds Calculator and Hand Evaluator.
